With the 2011 season rapidly approaching and me falling behind with reports, I'm going to start using my game notes for posts in an effort to release all remaining reports and video from the 2010 season promptly. First up in Pirates left-hander Nathan Baker.
As a former major college pick from the SEC, Baker proved to be far more advanced than the average left-handed starter at the level. In 25 starts across the Sally and Florida State League, Baker experienced enough success to quite possibly begin the 2011 season in AA where he will face a stiff test against age-appropriate competition.

- Fastball @ 88-90 MPH; 2-seamer in the mid-80's
- Over the top arm action
- Fastball featured tail away from RHH
- Moved the pitch in-and-out well
- Changeup @ 76-79 MPH
- Excellent arm action!
- Used the changeup as an out pitch (3 k's) when charting
- Curveball @ 74 MPH
- CB by far his weakest offering; wrapped wrist in his delivery; hung frequently
